Key responsibilities
-
Supervise and review bookkeeping done by junior staff
-
Ensure accurate and timely closing of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts

Prepare financial statements: balance sheet, income statement, and annexes

Manage tax declarations (TVA, IS, CVAE, CFE, etc.)

Post and review year-end entries (FNP, CCA, provisions, amortissements…)

Perform account analysis and justify account balances

Ensure compliance with French accounting and tax regulations

Handle communication with clients, tax authorities, and auditors

Support or lead the preparation of the liasse fiscale

Assist in training and guiding junior team members

Collaborate with the expert-comptable or chef de mission on client strategy

Contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives

Goals & Performance Metrics:
Within the First 3 Months
Take ownership of a portfolio of clients or internal entities
Review and validate junior team members' work
Ensure timely monthly closings with accurate reporting
Maintain up-to-date tax declarations (TVA, IS, CVAE…)
Build strong communication with clients and/or internal stakeholders
Within 6 Months and Beyond
Fully manage year-end closings and liasse fiscale preparation
Identify and correct accounting and tax risks
Improve workflows or processes for greater efficiency
Mentor junior accountants and support their growth
Contribute to client satisfaction and retention
Actively participate in audits or regulatory reviews
Performance Metrics
Timeliness of deliverables: % of closings and tax filings submitted on time
Accuracy rate: Minimal corrections required by supervisor or expert-comptable
Client satisfaction: Positive feedback and retention
Team contribution: Support and training provided to junior staff
Autonomy: Number of files/dossiers managed independently
Compliance: Zero or minimal tax/audit issues
Process improvement: Participation in initiatives to streamline tasks
