Key responsibilities

Overall, Purpose of The Job:

  • Deliver financial reporting with robust internal controls to ensure the accuracy of account bookings, fully compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Support the Financial Accountant and Team Lead in achieving all Service Quality KPIs and the strategic objectives of the Mauritius Center of Excellence.
  • Be prepared for the current scope of countries to vary and potentially expand to include additional African regions.

Accounting Services- Quality Control and Reporting:

  • Trade and Non-Trade Payables: Responsible for accurately booking payables with correct analytical dimensions, following the Procure-to-Pay (PTP) process.
  • Payments Processing: Manage both periodic and ad hoc payments with a focus on accuracy and zero tolerance for double payments.
  • Accounts Receivable and Intercompany Transactions: Oversee AR and intercompany transactional activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Month-End Close Process: Execute month-end close activities to deliver accurate financial and non-financial reports, in compliance with GAAP and Group accounting policies.
  • Data Integrity and Reporting: Ensure integrity, accuracy, and completeness of accounting records, providing reliable information to internal clients.
  • Reconciliation Tasks: Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, account allocations, and intercompany and bank reconciliations. Reconcile the Fixed Assets register to the Ledger under the supervision of the Team Lead.
  • Depreciation and Revaluation: Conduct monthly depreciation and revaluation entries.
  • G&A P&L Review: Collaborate with the Team Lead to review General & Administrative P&L.
  • Invoice and Revenue Posting: Post invoices and deferred revenue, reconcile deferred revenue on the balance sheet.
  • Accruals and Prepayments: Calculate, record, and monitor monthly accruals and prepayments.
  • IFRS 16 Compliance: Perform calculations and post journal entries related to IFRS 16.
  • Year-End Closing and Audits: Assist in the year-end closing process, ensuring timely completion of audited accounts.
  • Ad Hoc Assignments: Handle additional tasks as needed.

Internal Client Management:

  • Provide support for internal and external audit queries.

Provide support to WC, Treasury and FP&A as requested by Team Lead

Candidate Selection Criteria:

• Minimum 5 years' work experience in accounting
• Degree in accounting and finance
• Good command in both spoken and written English
• Prior experience in a global organization with multi-currency and multi-country financial reporting required.
• SUN and Oracle Accounting knowledge is an added value
• Ability to work under pressure to meet monthly closing and reporting deadlines.
• Positive attitude with service-oriented mindset
