Key responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage enterprise-level networks including LAN, WAN, VPN, and WLAN.
- Configure and maintain network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, access points).
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability.
- Implement and maintain system backups, disaster recovery procedures, and data protection.
- Enforce network security protocols and ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards.
- Administer user access and endpoint security.
- Set up and configure laptops/desktops, including installation of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Configure and support phones and enterprise communication devices (VoIP).
- Troubleshoot and repair hardware issues with laptops, peripherals, and headsets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on IT infrastructure projects.
- Maintain accurate documentation for network configurations, procedures, assets, and systems.
Required Technical Skills:
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, NAT, VPN, and firewall rules.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade networking equipment (Cisco).
- Proficient in installing and configuring Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Ability to diagnose and repair hardware issues in laptops and accessories.
- Experience with installation and troubleshooting of IP-based surveillance systems.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and endpoint protection.
- Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) is a plus.
Soft Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Attention to detail and a structured approach to troubleshooting.
- Capability to manage multiple priorities and tasks independently.
- Fluent in English & French.
Preferred Experience or Certifications:
- 2–5 years of experience in a network/system administration and hardware support role.
- Relevant certifications such as:
- Cisco CCNA/CCNP
- CompTIA Network+ / Security+
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
- LPIC-1/Linux+
- Experience with electronic device installation (e.g., surveillance systems, IP cameras).
- Install, configure, and maintain electronic equipment such as surveillance cameras (IP/CCTV).
Other Relevant Details:
- Position may include support after office hours.
- Security clearance or background screening may be required.
