Key responsibilities
As part of the development of our IT support service, we are looking for a User Support Technician who demonstrates strong listening skills and a genuine sense of service.
You will assist users, primarily aged 60 and over, who use simplified computers running a Linux-based operating system, specially designed for people who are not comfortable with new technologies. Your role will be to guide them with kindness, patience, and pedagogy in the daily use of their devices.
Main Responsibilities

Respond to user support requests by phone or remotely, with calmness and courtesy.

Guide users step by step in resolving their IT issues.

Assist users in connecting to a Wi-Fi network and diagnosing connectivity problems.

Support users during printer installation and configuration.

Explain clearly and simply the basic features of the simplified interface (navigation, messaging, video calls…).

Identify and resolve common issues users may encounter.

Write clear and precise intervention reports.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of support procedures and user documentation.

Escalate more complex issues to specialized teams.

Goals & Performance Metrics:
An initial evaluation will take place after 3 months to determine whether an extension is required.
N+1 Management Style:
Continuous supervision of the employee is provided by the N+1 manager.

Candidate Selection Criteria:
Excellent written and spoken French is required for this position. You will be in direct contact with senior users, for whom clarity of language and quality of communication are essential.
Technical Skills
Basic knowledge of using computers under Linux (usage, basic administration, diagnostics).
Basic understanding of common network protocols (Wi-Fi, TCP/IP) and associated equipment.
Ability to configure peripherals (printers, mice, keyboards, etc.) under Linux.
Experience in remote support or helpdesk is appreciated.
Ability to diagnose simple failures and guide non-technical users.

Work condition:
Weekdays only.
Fixed schedule: 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Mauritian public holidays are worked with double pay.
French public holidays are not worked.
