The proposed salary range (the final offer will be based on experience and seniority) is €26,500 – €40,000 gross annual total compensation , plus benefits (as listed in the relevant section below). 🎯 Mission & Core Purpose We’re looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to own the design and build of iubenda’s data infrastructure from the ground up. You will be the founding force behind a comprehensive Data Warehouse solution, turning raw data streams from our product, marketing, and business operations into clean, reliable, and insightful data assets. Reporting to the Director of Platform Engineering , you will partner with Marketing, Product, and Growth teams to build scalable analytics foundations that power data-driven decisions across the entire company. 💼 Key Responsibilities - Architecting and building iubenda’s Data Warehouse from scratch - defining the overall data architecture, modeling conventions, governance standards, and a scalable technical stack that can grow with the company. - Designing and implementing end-to-end data pipelines (dbt) that ingest, transform, and serve raw event logs, product data, and third-party sources as canonical, reliable datasets. - Owning the Marketing Analytics data engineering domain : owning the data pipelines and configuration of backend and frontend SDKs and middleware elements that lead data to advertising platforms and iubenda data warehouse, enabling the measurement of campaign performance, attribution, funnel conversion, and A/B testing. - Building foundational data infrastructure that empowers Data and Revenue Analysts from Finance, Marketing, Product, and Sales teams to independently build dashboards, explore data, and make informed decisions utilizing tools like PowerBI. - Establishing high data integrity standards, SLAs, alerting mechanisms, and documentation practices to ensure timely, accurate, and trustworthy data delivery across all consumers. - Defining and executing the strategic roadmap for data foundations and analytics capabilities, translating stakeholder needs into prioritised technical requirements, and serving as the internal technical thought leader for data modeling, ETL processes, and the modern data stack. - Partnering with Engineering and Product to understand how users interact with iubenda’s products, instrumenting data pipelines correctly from the source, and transforming event logs into insightful data marts. - Becoming the internal expert on iubenda’s data architecture - owning the full lifecycle from data instrumentation to production-ready, reporting-grade datasets compatible with existing finance and group-level data schemas. 👤 Your Profile You have experience in scale-up environments (SaaS experience is a plus) and a proven track record of building data infrastructure from an early stage. You combine deep technical data engineering skills with a strong ability to understand business needs - especially across Marketing, Finance, and Product. You take ownership, move fast, and don’t let perfect be the enemy of effective. 💡 Experience & Skills • 6+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, preferably in a SaaS scale-up, and strong exposure to Analytics needs from stakeholders. • Deep expertise in SQL and Python for transforming raw data into clean, accurate, and performant data models. • Proven track record of architecting and building a Data Warehouse or analytics infrastructure from scratch, including data modeling standards, governance frameworks, and the definition of a modern data stack. • Strong expertise in Marketing Analytics is required. Topics like hands-on integration with marketing platforms (Google Ads, Meta, HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar) are important, while attribution modeling, funnel analysis, and campaign performance are a plus. • Proficiency in dbt for building and managing multi-layer data transformations (staging, intermediate, and mart layers), including testing and documentation. • Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow or equivalent platforms. • Hands-on experience with modern cloud data warehouses: e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift. • Experience enabling the construction of insightful dashboards and self-serve reporting in visualization platforms such as PowerBI, Tableau, or similar for Data Analyst partners. • Ability to define and execute a strategic roadmap for data foundations - setting technical priorities, establishing data governance, and driving best practices across the organisation. • A “full-stack mindset”: not hesitating to do what it takes to solve a problem end-to-end, even if it goes outside the original scope. • A strong bias for action and the ability to thrive in ambiguity, taking initiative to create clarity and forward progress. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders. 🌐 Location At iubenda we believe in remote-first work. While you can work from anywhere in Mauritius, we encourage regular in-person collaboration at our Port Louis office, typically once per week. This role involves working with the team on CET hours, meaning your schedule will align with this time zone to ensure smooth collaboration. 🎁 Benefits • Healthy work-life balance 🌴 We offer a remote-first employment agreement with a 40-hour workweek, 22 paid days off (increasing to 25 from the second year), plus national holidays, all to help you thrive both professionally and personally. • Company retreats 🏔️ Once a year, we hold fully paid, week-long retreats in beautiful locations such as Venice, Athens, and Palermo, where we work, connect, and recharge together. • All-in-One flex budget 💳 A yearly sum of up to 1.000€ that you can tailor to your personal needs, whether it’s private health coverage, meal vouchers, childcare, learning, fitness, or other lifestyle choices. You can invest in what matters most to you (total amount, availability of specific services, payment method, and taxability may vary depending on local regulations). • Work equipment supply scheme 💻 A policy designed to help you create the perfect setup and perform at your best. • Collaborative, multicultural team 🧩 Join a team of talented, international colleagues in a friendly, open, and highly collaborative environment. Grand Baie· Temps plein· Sur site· 70 000 à 100 000 MUR

» 📍 Poste basé à l’Île Maurice 🏢 Employeur : BEFORMA FOAD LTD Forward Deployed AI Engineer • Understand the business. Build the solution. Deploy the impact. 🚀

Checkout.com's Process Architecture pillar designs how operations should work. This role builds what that looks like in practice. You'll use modern AI-assisted development tools, Cursor, Claude Code, n8n, and LLM APIs, to rapidly prototype and ship internal tools that eliminate manual effort across our operational teams. Your primary customers are Disputes, Due Diligence, and Transaction Monitoring: high-volume, high-stakes teams where the right automation meaningfully reduces analyst burden and improves decision quality. You'll move fast. You'll take processes that currently live in spreadsheets and manual case queues and turn them into something that mostly runs itself. Process Architects redesign how work flows; you make the new flow real. What You'll Do • Use AI-assisted development (Cursor, Claude Code) to prototype and ship tools for operational teams - fast. • Build workflow automations that connect case management systems, document stores, APIs, and LLMs into end-to-end pipelines • Create analyst-facing interfaces, triage tools, summary generators using self-built applications, Retool, or similar. • Apply LLMs where they reduce cognitive load: classification, case summarisation, structured extraction, decision support. • Embed with Disputes, CDD, Periodic Review, and Transaction Monitoring to learn how analysts actually work - not how the process doc says they do. • Translate vague pain points i.e "this part takes forever" into shipped tools in days or weeks, not quarters. • Demo early, iterate based on what analysts actually use versus ignore. • Treat every tool as a product: instrument usage, capture feedback, measure time saved or quality gained. • Document what you build and share reusable patterns so good ideas compound. What We're Looking For We care more about what you've built and how you think than years of experience or formal credentials. Must-haves • You've used Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, or similar to build something real, a script, a tool, a side project, that solved an actual problem. Not just tutorials • Comfortable in Python, or willing to be within weeks. • Basic API fluency: you can read a doc, make a request, parse the response, and chain a few calls • Familiarity with at least one LLM API. You've written a prompt, gotten structured output back, and understood why it sometimes goes wrong • Bias to ship - you'd rather get a rough version in front of users on Friday than a polished version in three weeks • Curiosity. You're the kind of person who opens the hood - you want to understand how things work, not just use them Nice-to-haves • Workflow automation tools (Zapier, n8n, Make) • Retool, Gradio, or similar lightweight UI frameworks • Git, basic SQL, or comfort with JSON/CSV at scale • Exposure to payments, fraud, compliance, or risk operations - even tangentially • A portfolio, GitHub, or demo you can walk us through Additional Information Bring all of you to work We create the conditions for high performers to thrive, through real ownership, fewer blockers, and work that makes a difference from day one. Here, you’ll move fast, take on meaningful challenges, and be recognized for the impact you deliver. It’s a place where ambition gets met with opportunity, and where your growth is in your hands. We work as one team, and we back each other to succeed. So whatever your background or identity, if you’re ready to grow and make a difference, you’ll be right at home here. It’s important we set you up for success and make our process as accessible as possible. So let us know in your application, or tell your recruiter directly, if you need anything to make your experience or working environment more comfortable.
