Our client, world’s largest charter company. Founded in Year 2000. They started off small, offering six yachts from the Seychelles and now grown to become the largest charter operation in the world with + 1000 yachts in 50 destinations worldwide.

They are currently looking for their Director of Accounting – International who will be responsible for managing overseas accounting operations in multiple countries including local compliance requirement, tax filings, month end close, conversion to local statutory to IFRS, A/P, A/R, Balance Sheet reconciliations, local Mauritian payroll.

You will:

  • Manage international, multiple entity consolidations, including eliminations and multiple currencies

  • Manage conversion of local statutory accounting standard to IFRS

  • Oversee the daily accounting activities for subsidiaries (more than 50 ones) required to maintain the general ledger

  • Review and manage the Balance Sheet reconciliations and ensure proper controls are in place

  • Assist with the preparation of Financial Statements for various entities under different accounting standards (local and IFRS)

  • Work with the Group Financial Analysis & Reporting team with the month end, quarter end and year end closing processes including review of general ledger postings

  • Manage the preparation and provide work papers to external accountants and respond to any questions regarding audit and tax work

  • Analysis of third-party agreements with vendors, affiliates, services providers, landlords, banks and others

  • Assist with the documentation of accounting procedures

  • Identify areas of improvement within the accounting team and close cycle

  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and reconcile inter-company accounts

  • Support in close acceleration initiatives highly focusing on systems improvements

Requirements:

  • 15+ years experience, preferred experience of 5 years minimum of managerial experience in a global company environment

  • Required 5 years of public accounting experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance required; MBA Preferred

  • Accounting certification required

  • Excellent communication skills, particularly written communication

  • Strong working knowledge of accounting methods and work flows

  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Strong business acumen with excellent communication skills – verbal and written

  • Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision

  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail

  • Mix of public accounting and industry experience at a publicly-traded company required

  • Adept at business partnering and working with cross-functional teams, building meaningful business relationships along the way

  • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure; dependable with deliverables and deadlines, able to multi-task

  • Fluent in French and English. Work language will be English
