Mauritius-based Meridian Group operates across Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe. We are looking to recruit an Assistant Accounts with experience in auditing to assist in finance department for its Mauritius based team. 



  • Ensure timely and accurate posting of accounting entries on QuickBooks for assigned client portfolio.

  • Prepare monthly management account and yearly financial Statement for profit and non Profit making Organisations.

  • Compute and filing of company taxes (APS, CPS, TDS and Corporate Tax).

  • Assist with client’s queries. 

  • Prepare invoices for clients and contacting them to ensure timely payment of invoices to enhance cash management process.

  • Prepare and compute monthly and quarterly vat return and ensure timely submission of return to the regulatory bodies. 

  • Successfully assist and handle queries from the MRA for various client. 

  • Assist client to maintain proper internal control systems. 

  • Compute and submit of individual tax return to the regulatory. 

  • Train and appropriately delegate work to junior staff. 


  • Assist in the planning and execution of audit engagements.

  • Prepare preliminary list of queries and follow up with clients.

  • Liaise with senior staff in communicating the audit approach and discuss with them the outcome of the audits. 

  • Monitor and coordinate the work of the team and prepare written reports of work carried out, detailing audit finding and recommendations.


  • Draft of written resolutions upon appointment or removal of directors.

  • Filing of statutory documents with the Registrar of Companies.

  • Prepare documents and make applications for the incorporation of companies.


  • HSC Holder as a minimum.

  • Good communication skills – English preferred and French.

  • A previous working  experience in auditing would be an advantage.

  • Knowledge of IFRS and IAS, regulations and statutory requirements would be an advantage.
