Key responsibilities
The Accountant is responsible for providing and ensuring the effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations. The Accounts Officer must comply with established policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
- Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
- Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements
- Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
- Daily enter key data of financial transactions in database
- Provide assistance and support to company personnel
- Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
- Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas
- Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws
- Constantly update job knowledge
- REQUIREMENTS
- Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
- Competency in MS Office
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Aptitude for numbers
- Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
- Data entry and word processing skills
- Well organized
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCES
- 3 years’ experience in accounting
- HSC with good results in accounting
- ACCA Level 1 will be a plus but not a prerequisite
- Excellent command of English and French, both written and spoken
- Experience in Accounts Payable will be a plus but not a prerequisite
- Flexible to work odd hours

Candidate Selection Criteria:
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCES:
1.3 years’ experience in accounting.
2.HSC with good results in accounting.
3.ACCA Level 1 will be a plus but not a prerequisite.
4.Excellent command of English and French, both written and spoken.
5.Experience in Accounts Payable will be a plus but not a prerequisite.
Work condition:
Location: Office-based role at our production facility in Mauritius
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 08:30 to 17:30( Saturday 8:30 to Noon)
Environment: Professional, compliance-driven textile manufacturing and export setting
Team Structure: Collaborative finance department working closely with HR, production, and export teams
Tools & Systems: QuickBooks
Travel: Minimal; occasional liaison with auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities
