We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. The Assistant Accountant will support the accounting department in various financial tasks, including recording financial transactions, preparing financial statements, and assisting in month-end close activities. The ideal candidate is a team player with excellent numerical and analytical skills, a strong attention to detail, and a desire to develop their career in accounting.
- Assist in the preparation and recording of financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Perform bank and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Support the month-end close process by preparing journal entries and assisting with financial analysis.
- Collaborate with the Admin & Finance manager to ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns and other regulatory reporting requirements.
- Maintain and update financial records and documentation, ensuring proper organization and storage.
- Assist with audits by providing supporting documentation and explanations as required.
- Participate in financial analysis projects and provide insights to support decision-making processes.
- Stay updated with changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices to ensure compliance and suggest process improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, ACCA, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate with team members.
- Prior experience or internships in an accounting role is a plus.
