Our client is a financial advisory firm specialising in raising international capital for high‐growth sustainable ventures across the African continent. This includes the whole range of technologies within the Renewable Energy sector, covering wind, solar, hybrid, hydro, biomass and biogas projects in a variety of business models, as well as Sustainable Infrastructure, Sustainable Agriculture, Health and Education.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Build and review financial models to support in the fundraising efforts.
  • Creating and reviewing investor pitches and business plans.
  • Conducting research to identify suitable business opportunities/tenders.
  • Connections/introductions to investors as well as negotiating with said investors on the fundraisings.
  • Setting up due diligence data rooms and assist in any other tasks required for a successful fundraising.
  • Contribute to research articles, write, and publish blogs and tutorials
  • Monthly finance and accounting processes.

Profile:
Minimum requirements:
  • The successful candidate will have 1-3 years professional experience as a Finance Analyst, Investment Analyst, Research Analyst, or a similar function.
  • Minimum degree level of Bachelor of Science; candidates with a Master or MBA will be given preference.
  • A degree in Accounting / Chartered or Certified Accountant. Degrees in Economics and Finance will be considered provided the candidate has a strong knowledge of accounting.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills are required and experience in Visual Basic, is helpful, although not essential.
  • Proficiency with MS Word and PowerPoint are required, and experience with QuickBooks or other accounting software would be helpful.
  • An excellent command of English in both writing and speaking, as well as a professional level of French. Should the level of French not be up to standard, the candidate will be considered provided that they take intensive French courses until a satisfactory level has been obtained.

  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and strong work ethic with an ability to multitask.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • An open mind, a positive attitude, and a strong willingness to learn.
  • Enthusiasm, flexibility, and maturity to adapt to the needs of a dynamic group and deliver within strict timeframes.
  • Financial modelling is an important part of the work, so experience in this area is beneficial but not a pre-requisite, as training will be provided.
  • Interest to learn about financial modelling, the financial advisory sector, the investment landscape etc.
  • Interest in sustainability; mainly the renewable energy, agriculture, and infrastructure sectors.
